Deputies arrest Earlsboro woman on robbery complaint

An Earlsboro woman was arrested by sheriff’s deputies Thursday afternoon following an armed robbery at the Earlsboro Tag Agency.  Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Capt. Travis Palmer said Bianca Gutierrez, 19, was arrested and booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center on a robbery complaint.

Formal charges have not been filed, but the case will be turned over to the district attorney’s office for consideration. Palmer said deputies responded first to the Earlsboro Kwick Stop when a motorist whose car broke down there was informed by a woman that she was going to rob the convenience store. That motorist told the store clerk, who called law enforcement, he said.  As deputies were en route to that call, the alleged suspect reportedly walked to the nearby Earlsboro Tag Agency, put on a ski mask and robbed employees inside at gunpoint, Palmer said.  The woman fled on foot, Palmer said, with footprints left in ice and snow helping deputies as they set up a perimeter and tracked the alleged suspect to a house a few blocks away. From there, deputies learned a woman had been picked up from that location and further investigation led deputies to her home.

Palmer said Gutierrez allegedly confessed involvement and told deputies where to find the money. Deputies recovered about $400, Palmer said. The investigation is ongoing.
