POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Oklahoma 10/4/2018 – A 47-year-old Shawnee man is still on the loose, more than 24 hours after investigators say he attacked his stepson with a machete.

According to the victim’s older brother, 20-year-old Patrick O’Ryan underwent reconstructive surgery on his skull at OU Medical Center Friday, after his stepfather John Logan attacked him at his mother’s home near Prague.

OU Medical Center told News 9 O’Ryan is in “fair” condition.

Investigators say Logan had been drinking prior to the attack. His wife had filed for divorce earlier in the week, and had been granted a “no contact” order the day before.

Jesse Bolt, an older brother of Patrick O’Ryan, says his stepfather has a drinking problem.

“He wouldn’t’ stop drinking. And just being mouthy, and he tried putting his hands on my mother,” Bolt said.

Pottawatomie County Undersheriff J.T. Palmer says investigators believe Logan could be in Seminole County.

“We’re confident he made a phone call, and somebody has picked him up,” said Palmer.
