Governor’s Burn Ban extended and expanded to cover 52 counties

Governor’s Burn Ban extended and expanded to cover 52 counties. Ban will expire at midnight on March 2, 2018. Red counties are Governor’s Burn Ban; Yellow are County Commissioner issued burn bans. Visit www.forestry.ok.gov/burn-ban-info to read resolutions for each county and to see guidelines for the Governor’s ban.

Effective February 15, 2018 by order of Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, all outdoor burning, combustible materials and ignition sources are banned in the following Counties: Alfalfa, Beaver, Beckham, Blaine, Caddo, Canadian, Carter, Cimarron, Cleveland, Comanche, Cotton, Creek, Custer, Dewey, Ellis, Garfield, Garvin, Grady, Grant, Greer, Harmon, Harper, Jackson, Jefferson, Kay, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, Love, Major, McClain, Murray, Noble, Okfuskee, Oklahoma, Okmulgee, Osage, Pawnee, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Roger Mills, Seminole, Stephens, Texas, Tillman, Tulsa, Washington, Washita, Woods and Woodward. Extreme fire conditions exist in these counties due to extraordinary drought. Failure to observe this ban may result in criminal prosecution under O.S. Title 2 Article 16 § 26, punishable by a fine not to exceed $1000, imprisonment for not more than one year, or both.
