The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol to help eliminate distracted driving on January 15th, 2021.
January 31st, 2021 marks the 6th year anniversary of Trooper Nick Dees death. Trooper Dees was struck, and killed, by a distracted driver.
Distracted driving, which includes any activity that diverts attention from driving, can be deadly.
Nationwide on average 3,000 deaths are reported referencing distracted driving. All of these deaths are preventable.
There will be an increased patrol presence of law enforcement targeting distracted drivers.
