Funeral Service: Retired Deputy Tony Knox

Anthony Edwin “Tony” Knox of Shawnee, OK, passed away Sunday, June 27th, 2021 at the age of 80. He was one of four sons born to Eddie and Louise “Son” Knox on March 18th, 1941. He graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1959 and had made it a point to keep up with many of his classmates over the years. Tony worked at Tinker and later Allen Bradley, now TDK. He retired after 26 years. He then went to work for the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s office as a transport where he helped until retiring again. He was a member of the North Rock Creek School board where both of his children attended. He volunteered at ARC and was nicknamed “The Cat Dad.”Tony was a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.

He was preceded in death by his parents Eddie & Louise Knox, and brothers Charles Knox & Lindell Knox.

Tony is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elva Jean “McMakin” Knox, his daughter Tami Knox, his son Mark Knox and wife Tina, grandchildren Kristen Hansen and husband Branden, Lane Castleberry and wife Codi, Anthony Knox, Amanda Knox, and husband Brandon Cogar, great-granddaughter, Harlow Cogar, brother Bob Knox, and wife Denise, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held at Johnson Cemetery on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Johnson Cemetery fund or to the National Cancer Society.
