Pottawatomie County Sheriff Office Website Actively Notifies the Community About Local News
At the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office, keeping the community well-informed and safe are top priorities. Sheriff Michael Booth has been instrumental in the advancement of the sheriff’s office. He was elected in 2008 and has previously worked as a criminal investigator for the District Attorney’s office.
He has held many different positions in Pottawatomie County, all involving public safety and accountability. The sheriff’s office is very active on social media, helping get information out to the public quickly.
When Booth first became a Sheriff, he developed a warrants unit that now has nearly 20 members. The unit consists of full-time deputies, reserve deputies and officers from Citizen Pottawatomie Tribal PD, Shawnee PD, Shawnee Marshals, Absentee Shawnee Tribal PD, McLoud PD and Tecumseh PD.
“Ideas and concepts from many great sheriffs, police chiefs, civic and tribal leaders from our past and present have helped make our current law enforcement operations [set an] example that many outside of our county view as a standard for them to operate by and even a goal for them to work toward,” Booth says.
